Fehr Graham is a fast-growing Midwest engineering environmental firm looking for a motivated, experienced and detail-driven Project Engineer to join our Sheboygan, WI office. In this key role, you will be hands on with designing engineering projects, oversee the daily operations of construction projects, serve as an on-site engineer and primary liaison between contractors, clients, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will bring experience with WisDOT projects, a strong understanding of civil construction practices, and a passion for delivering quality municipal infrastructure improvements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • EIT/FE certification required, PE certification a plus or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Capacity to manage complex projects and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with detailed design tasks for engineering staff.
  • Prepare reports, complex calculations, and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct planning, investigations, and surveys while applying innovative engineering principles.
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day field operations for roadways, bridges, utility installations, and other civil infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subconsultants, municipal clients, and regulatory agencies to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
  • Perform and document field inspections, materials testing, and quality control procedures.
  • Monitor construction schedules and budgets; proactively identify and address potential delays or overruns.
  • Contribute to project designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and analyses to support project planning.
  • Assist in project documentation, reporting, and coordination with project managers.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
