What you’ll do As a Project Engineer, you’ll help with projects that require you to apply standard practices and techniques. You’ll also:

Requirements

  • Ideally, you’ll have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • If you have one to five years of experience in transportation engineering or municipal design, we want to talk.
  • Have working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Understand roadway design principles and municipal project requirements.
  • Have strong analytical, problem-solving and technical design skills.
  • Be a strong communicator.
  • Manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Desire to grow into project management and client-facing responsibilities.
  • Be a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • You’ll have a leg up if you’re licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Traffic Operations Engineer or if you demonstrate the ability to secure licensure shortly after your start date.
  • Department of Transportation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and development of transportation projects, including roadway geometrics, intersections, roundabouts and pavement.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, design reports and quantities.
  • Perform calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater, pavement and traffic operations.
  • Develop design elements using Civil 3D.
  • Coordinate with survey, environmental, structural and municipal teams.
  • Assist with permitting, utility coordination, agency submissions and quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Participate in client meetings, stakeholder discussions and internal reviews.
  • Support construction administration tasks such as submittal review, requests for information and field observations.
