About The Position

Our Parsons Corona, California office in the greater metro Los Angeles area is now hiring for a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with demonstrated experience supporting road & highway in California for Caltrans projects. You will perform a wide variety of engineering tasks for highway, rail, and transit projects from feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and final design to report writing and development of construction contract documents. Candidate may perform in a task lead capacity and take responsibility for delivering assignments. Extensive experience with Caltrans projects in California is essential. Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or project site locations, is expected. This position is based in our Corona, California office, and allows for hybrid remote working (meaning ability to work from home 2-3 days per week).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 10 years or more of experience in roadway related fields.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• Caltrans projects experience and knowledge of Caltrans standards, policies, and manuals.
• Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices as well as solve complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of roadway engineering tasks such as geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
• Prepare engineering design plans, engineering computations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Assist the project manager in executing and delivering project assignments.
• Coordinate and communicate with internal team and external clients/agencies.
• May plan, lead, and supervise lower level engineers on same assignments.
• Participate in project meetings as well as participate in site visits and field inspection as required.
