About The Position

Project Engineer - Support Equipment Integrator (Lead and Senior) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Global Services is seeking two experienced people and program leads to join our Support Equipment organization as a Lead Project Engineer and Senior Lead Project Engineer in Hazelwood, Missouri or Berkeley, Missouri. This position is responsible for providing Project Management and Integration to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers. This position is the primary point of contact on behalf of the Support Equipment organization to Program Management. They will be responsible for managing the Support Equipment statement of work throughout the lifecycle from Proposal to Delivery. This includes working with customers and management to obtain approval and responding to and negotiating changes to the statement of work and assessing the impact on our deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules. They will lead project execution to complete the work statement. They will plan, identify, and coordinate resources required over the life of the project or program. They will define plans for risk mitigation and opportunity. They will compare actual results to the baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned. Lastly, they will provide technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. We seek a proactive and highly motivated individual capable of managing multiple tasks and working with minimal supervision. This position will report to the Manager of Support Equipment Integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience in Program Management Best Practices (i.e., Requirements Management, Resource Management, Integrated Planning and Scheduling, Financial Oversight (EVM), Program Performance Management, Supplier Integration, RIO (Risk, Issue, Opportunity) Management, Program Communication, Senior Leadership Reviews, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience integrating supplier or partner plans and schedules into the Program schedule and managing the integrated Master Schedule at the Program level
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiar with Boeing Management Best Practices, Program start up, and US Government EXPORT requirements
  • Knowledge of support Equipment tools such as BORIS, DE2, Tableau Dashboards, and CRIs
  • Knowledge of support equipment design, development, production and sustainment with emphasis on “Operational and Maintenance Capabilities” for both On and Off Platform Support
  • Experience evaluating supplier bids, coordinating supplier deliveries, trouble-shooting supplier performance issues, and working directly with Boeing Procurement and suppliers to manufacture and deliver support equipment or related aircraft and training equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to facilitate communications across the multi-disciplined support equipment teams, Vertical Program (USN, USAF, etc.) organization, and Foreign Customers
  • Experience in the preparation and delivery of briefings to Boeing and external customers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with special emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Familiarity with integrated logistics support disciplines including Technical Publications, Spares, LSA/Provisioning as they relate to support equipment development, production and sustainment

Responsibilities

  • Works with customers and management to obtain approval
  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules
  • Leads project execution to complete the work statement
  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program
  • Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans
  • Travel at least 10% of the time to meet customer needs
  • Works under minimal direction
