GFT is seeking a Project Engineer, Rail & Transit to support a variety of projects in the West Region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Berkeley office. Requirements
- At least 6-8 years of professional experience on a diverse range of projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
- Registration as licensed Professional Engineer.
- Experience with CADD
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with project proposals and presentations preferred
- Expertise in some areas of Design Manuals and Guidelines
- Some experience with management of small work groups and project tasks
- Knowledge agency processes and coordination with agency and stakeholders
- Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria and reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Works with clients and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work
- Analyzes moderate to complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
- Participates in constructability evaluations
- Produces planning reports and studies as part of the project team
- Provides direction to and supervision for Engineer I, II, & III
- Communicate with clients on task-oriented issues and on project issues under the direction of the project manager.
- Attends public and agency meetings and participates under direct supervision of the project manager
- Works across disciplines to develop the overall design and plans for a project.
- Leads the design of specific tasks
- Conducts agency and stakeholder coordination.
- Participates in the development of proposals as part of a pursuit team.
