What you’ll do Our ideal candidate is not only experienced in civil engineering but also possesses a preference for tackling challenges in transportation, private development, stormwater or hydraulic modeling. You’ll make crucial decisions independently, find innovative solutions and plan and coordinate projects. As a Project Engineer, you’ll make independent decisions and will thrive under pressure.

Requirements

Ideally, you’ll have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
If you have five or more years of experience in civil design and project management, preferably at a professional consulting firm, we want to talk.
You should be a licensed professional engineer or demonstrate the ability to secure licensure shortly after starting employment.
Speak and write well.
Have strong analytical and organizational skills.
Be a team player.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate work.
Apply standard engineering practices and techniques.
Adjust and correlate data.
Recognize discrepancies and follow standard procedures.
Build relationships with clients, municipal staff, board members, and key decision-makers
Work effectively under tight deadlines.
Project cost estimating.
Supporting construction staff with field changes and clarifications.
Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and budget planning.
Coordinate permitting with regulatory agencies and navigate local/state requirements.
Represent and support the team at board/council meetings (1-2/month, varies).
Mentor junior staff and provide technical QA/QC.
