Our Texas regional office combines the resources and systems of a national organization with an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, small-team culture. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our multifamily construction team in Allen, Texas. This role offers exposure to all phases of construction and development and provides the opportunity to grow within a highly collaborative regional team. Position Overview: The Project Engineer will support project execution from preconstruction through active construction and closeout. Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, the Project Engineer will collaborate closely with field staff, the development team, design consultants, accounting, and property management to ensure seamless coordination across all project phases. This is a support role that will require collaboration between office and field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in or related to Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture.
  • Experience in multifamily or commercial construction; developer-side or general contractor experience acceptable.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Understanding of construction drawings and specifications (architectural, structural, civil, and MEP).
  • Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of construction site safety requirements.
  • Manages time and workload to meet sensitive deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable in CSI (Construction Specification Institute) formats and numbering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support preconstruction activities including preparing bid packages, bid solicitation, bid leveling, and subcontractor scope review.
  • Review drawings, RFIs, and project documents to support accurate execution.
  • Provide support to Superintendents and Project Management in daily field operations.
  • Coordinate closely with field staff to resolve construction and design issues efficiently.
  • Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, safety reports, and files.
  • Maintain the construction documents “up to date” by incorporating addendums, ASI’s, as-built notes, etc.
  • Create, update, and maintain the project submittal and procurement log.
  • Review and process submittals and coordinate between multiple submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Assist with purchase order requisitions, material tracking, and delivery coordination.
  • Attend and contribute to project Owner progress meetings and Superintendents preconstruction and foremen’s meetings.
  • Support in maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards on all project sites.
  • Lead and track punch list and assist Superintendents through completion.
  • Assemble and forward project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranties.
  • Promote a consistent culture of safety, quality, and professionalism across all phases of the project.
  • Perform additional tasks as required/assigned by the company.
