Job Summary We are looking for a Project Engineer who will be responsible for developing, executing, and controlling assigned projects in support of plant goals. Through expert application of engineering techniques and principles, the candidate will conduct analyses and investigations supporting the construction of new facilities and enhancements to existing machinery to optimize productive capability of the plant. We encourage the Project Engineer to make sound recommendations, considering such factors as safety, cost, schedule, operability, maintainability, and materials and methods of construction. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly adaptive, and capable of managing multiple engineering assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) coupled with at least 3 years of demonstrated related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify engineering problems or opportunities and apply technical expertise to develop and present feasible solutions.
  • Take ownership for engineering projects from conception to completion, applying all areas of engineering expertise to obtain feasible, effective solutions.
  • Partner with the Maintenance and Production teams to identify operational or maintenance problems. Once the problem is recognized, conduct the engineering analysis and follow through with project recommendations.
  • Perform daily oversight of contractor work and coordinate with plant operations to ensure capital projects are executed efficiently and with minimal interference to manufacturing operations.
  • Develop detailed justifications for capital expenditures and prepare project authorization forms with supporting documentation.
  • Communicate project business cases verbally and in writing at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Work closely with Accounting and Purchasing departments to ensure total financial accountability of assigned projects and complete closure.
