About The Position

The Project Engineer II will plan and lead equipment selection and activities of technical engineering projects in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, and development environment to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time and funding parameters. The role involves interviewing and selecting contractors and equipment suppliers based on project requirements, establishing and maintaining schedules and budgets for each project phase, and supporting production processes in a team-based environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years' engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with manufacturing/capital equipment.
  • Good manufacturing practices (GMP) experience.
  • Proficiency in project management and planning.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing/packaging equipment, processes, and facility operations.
  • Experience with Solid Oral Dose pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and standard operating procedures (SOP).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in process improvement and packaging engineering.
  • Chemical engineering background.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project funding requests and the planning and execution of new capital investments and continuous improvement projects.
  • Utilize project tools to plan and lead technical engineering projects, establishing and maintaining project documentation, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Generate User Requirements Specifications, Functional Specifications, and execute Factory Acceptance Tests, commissioning protocols, and Site Acceptance Test protocols.
  • Identify and select equipment vendors or contractors based on project requirements and internal equipment and systems knowledge.
  • Determine equipment capability to establish feasibility and use on the production floor.
  • Generate, review, and maintain project, construction, and technical documentation, including P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, and Specifications.
  • Evaluate, design, and arrange production equipment within facilities to ensure efficient plant layout.
  • Evaluate methods, machinery, and manpower to monitor and maintain efficiencies.
  • Support, collaborate, and participate in investigations and closures of Deviations and CAPAs.
  • Provide guidance to manufacturing groups regarding optimal equipment use and manufacturing techniques.
  • Partner with or lead cross-functional team projects or troubleshooting activities to support manufacturing/packaging operations and other corporate projects.
  • Develop standards to ensure optimum efficiency and generate methods to measure operating efficiencies.
