About The Position

Honeywell is seeking dedicated professionals to step into the role of Project Engineer I within our esteemed Aerospace sector. In this pivotal position, you will play an essential role in executing programs that drive innovation and success in our organization. We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to participate in our Project Engineering Development Rotational Program. This comprehensive 2 to 3 year program is designed to accelerate your career growth in Project Engineering through a structured series of rotational assignments and targeted learning experiences. You will be in mentorship with experienced Project Engineers to learn the application of common Project Engineering standards, tools & processes within Engineering to improve program health through baseline/change/ risk management strategies consistent with Program Management best practices. You will be part of a structured rotational experience that includes training, certifications, mentoring and “On the Job Training”. During the program, you will be exposed to Systems Engineering & Product Design, Manufacturing/Verification, Supply Management, Program Management, Proposal Management and associated processes/tools by rotating through various Product Design areas in one of our major Business Units. You will have exposure to not only Engineering but also other functions like Program Management, Finance, Offering Management, Manufacturing, Supply Management, Cyber Security, etc. This role will equip you with the knowledge and experience needed to make a meaningful impact on our organization, ensuring that program/product objectives are met with efficiency and effectiveness. Successfully completing the program will position you to apply for a practicing Project Engineer role within Honeywell. You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager of Engineering Operational Excellence and will work out of our Phoenix, AZ area locations on a hybrid work schedule. As part of the rotational development program, this role will include planned rotations across multiple Honeywell sites in the greater Phoenix area, including Glendale, Phoenix, and Tempe, providing broad exposure to our engineering teams, programs, and operations. Requirements

  • US PERSON REQUIREMENT
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
  • YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering
  • Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Engineering, Program Management, Business or related field
  • Experience in aerospace program management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Execute the activities on New Product Development in the roles of project engineering, program controls, program management, ISC engineering, and through proposal to production phases of a program
  • Use your agility and ability to support program teams in solving critical issues and achieving metrics while learning the roles and responsibilities of the Integrated Program Team
  • Learn & master common engineering tools & processes across Aero Engineering
  • Complete Earned Value Management Certification
  • Complete Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Learn & master Program Management processes/tools
  • Complete the designed rotations and evaluations per Rotational PE program design
  • Track program progress and performance metrics, providing updates and insights to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement initiative
