JOB SUMMARY: Support the development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets while managing multiple vendors and providing technical leadership. Establish effective project management practices, guide design decisions, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones. Collaborate with the Manager, Project Engineering to manage changes and resolve challenges among stakeholders, while also participating in verification and validation testing. Provide technical solutions across diverse UDX venues and advise stakeholders on best practices and compliance with UDX standards and specifications. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Project Engineer leads the full lifecycle of venue systems—including design, production, fabrication, installation, focus, programming, commissioning, and turnover—while providing technical leadership and mentorship to the project team. They oversee scopes, schedules, and budgets, foster collaboration across departments, and work closely with the Manager, Project Engineering to develop documentation and schedules for both Capital and Expense Programs. Responsibilities also include supporting contractual documentation such as Scopes of Work (SOW), RFIs, RFPs, and specifications, and delivering clear, concise updates and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders at all levels. This role requires strong communication skills, adherence to GAP policies and procedures, and support for system training and documentation improvements across platforms like SharePoint, MAXIMO, and PMWeb. Oversees contractor’s mock-up, prototype, and acceptance testing efforts to ensure final installed systems meet scope of work and contract specifications. Review all improvements to insure they follow all applicable codes, regulations and standards including ISO, IEC, AISC, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, NEC, OSHA, NFPA, F24 and IEEE standards. Support Subject Matter Experts in multiple disciplines for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or control systems. Support the development and review FMEAs and Safety Risk Assessments for new and existing Venues and Scope of Work for contracts and projects. Review designs and documentation from vendors/contractors ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and specifications. Develop and conduct Acceptance Test Procedures for Venues. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable technical field required. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ of experience in direct theme park specific technical/engineering roles required or similar experience in related technical field.
  • Significant vendor management experience.
  • 3+ years of projects experience within the entertainment/theme park industry required.
  • Experience in Theme park development, construction, show and ride systems design or fabrication is preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
