The Project Engineer, FWT will act as the primary point of contact for clients for factory witness tests, handling equipment and schedule coordination, test planning, and responding to technical inquiries about design performance and compliance. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Certifications: Strong understanding of NEC and relevant standards (UL, IEC, IEEE).
  • Experience: 5+ years of customer-facing project engineering experience with data center, critical power or mission-critical infrastructure equipment. Experience with factory acceptance testing (FAT) and/or site acceptance testing (SAT).
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of 3-phase electrical distribution equipment, UPS systems, switchboards, and energy storage solutions. Ability to read electrical schematics, single-line power drawings and mechanical assembly drawings. 
  • Soft Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, detailed documentation skills, and a “problem solver” and “customer focus” mindset.
  • Safety-first mindset: Proven experience managing high-risk, high-energy environments.

Responsibilities

  • Customer: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during witness tests, addressing technical questions regarding design functionality and compliance.
  • Test Planning & Strategy: Ensure test plans are developed to meet customer requirements and ready prior to the date of witness testing.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document witness test outcomes, generate test reports, and manage "punch-list" items (defects) to closure prior to shipment.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and document non-conformances, working with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Equipment Coordination: Coordinate with planners and the master scheduler to ensure all equipment necessary for the test in ready on the date of testing.
  • Safety: Ensure adherence to all safety standards in a high-energy environment
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a positive experience for customers.
