We are providing supplemental engineering services, including project management and construction management, including commissioning oversight and support for a large wastewater infrastructure capital improvement program in Orange County, California. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to provide engineering support in successful delivery of complex wastewater treatment plant and pump station. As an Electrical Engineer / Project Engineer, you'll perform electrical engineering work including design, design review, construction support service for wastewater treatment plant electrical generating and distribution systems. Responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • California PE license (or ability to reciprocate).
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in water/wastewater projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 820, IEEE standards.
  • Proven experience with Design of medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems and motor control systems including switchgear, single line diagrams, elementary diagrams, motor control schematics, short circuit calculations, protective device coordination studies, raceway/wire design, hazardous area classification.
  • Knowledge of: Electrical system design including medium voltage design and motor control schematic development.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning, design, and construction activities.
  • Design electrical systems (low/medium voltage, lighting, emergency power, UPS).
  • Performing interdisciplinary review of design documents, reviewing NETA test results, and performing electrical system startup and commissioning (low and medium-voltage systems). It is desirable for candidate to have
  • Performing short circuit calculations and protective device coordination studies utilizing ETAP software.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and basis of design reports.
  • Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash).
  • Support project management with cost/schedule controls and reporting.
  • Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase services.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplineteams and mentor junior staff.
