Depending on qualifications and project needs, this role may be filled as either a Project Engineer OR a Cost Engineer. Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture
  • Ability to lead meetings
  • Resourcefulness and ability to track down information quickly and accurately
  • Maintains high level of professionalism at all levels
  • Cost management skills
  • Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Commitment to detail and strong sense of urgency
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Must be well organized and possess problem solving skills
  • Positive attitude and a good sense of humor
  • Negotiation experience and skills
  • Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced team environment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Change Management Assist/Input all potential cost items
  • Review, qualify and prepare change orders
  • Process all project costs and invoices
  • Responsible for updating and preparing committed cost reports(job/client specific)
  • Request and obtain pricing for all changes (submittal/RFI/ Bulletins, etc.).
  • Document Control Process submittals and shop drawings
  • Log in and track Requests for Information
  • Receive and route jobsite correspondence
  • Maintain and distribute project documentation
  • Obtain and process start-up and closeout documents
  • Manage and update drawings and specifications
  • Document minutes during jobsite meetings
  • Archive project information at completion
  • Procurement Assist project manager and estimator in establishing committed cost report.
  • Develop/ set up submittal register
  • Develop required on job log (materials)
  • Field Operations Enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite, working closely with the project manager, safety representative, and superintendent to support the project safety plan to provide another set of eyes for safety compliance
  • Track timely receipt of required submittals/ shop drawings and samples.
