No other community comes close. Promontory Club is looking to fill a vacancy for its commercial construction arm, Promontory HOMES, and the position of Project Engineer-Commercial, Full Time. WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Promontory has been approved to construct over 1,900 luxury residential properties. Offering a wide range of products from twin home cottages to large semi-custom homes. We focus on high-end luxury residential real estate. Supporting these real estate sales is a breadth of amenities for our membership to enjoy. Ranging from golf clubhouses and restaurants, to fitness, pools, a spa, ski lodges, and much, much more. Promontory HOMES also constructs these amenities through our commercial team. The Project Engineer will responsible for assisting our Project Managers and construction Superintendents with successful completion and delivery of our amenity projects. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing project documentation (RFI’s, submittals, weekly meetings, and logs) and supporting the Project Manager & construction Superintendent with financial and schedule management. They will also take a role in making sure that safety and quality standards are met daily.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred; currently enrolled in or a recent graduate with a degree in Construction Management is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of related industry experience.
  • General knowledge of building construction practices, means and methods.
  • Basic computer skills and competency in the following, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Must have strong organizational skills; must have clear, concise written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail; must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Must be able to stand, walk and work on feet for multiple hours a day if needed; must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs regularly and 100lbs occasionally; must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends; must be able to work in hot and cold environments; performance of the required duties will require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; performing this job requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; while performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock; the noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
  • Has a valid driver’s license and is able to travel to and from the project site.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Procore is preferred.
  • Experience with Procore and Bluebeam software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create, track, and manage Requests for Information (RFI’s).
  • Create and manage submittals and ensure their timely processing for approval.
  • Create, maintain, and update project logs, including a procurement log, and keep all files up to date.
  • Assist in review of subcontractor invoices and timesheets.
  • Open and close daily all project sites and walk for any damage or theft that may have occurred and report any concerns to the construction Superintendent.
  • Schedule, layout permits/required inspection documents on the day of inspection if directed by the construction Superintendent.
  • Give directions to subcontractors and supplier personnel as directed by the Project Manager and or construction Superintendent.
  • Oversee delivery of material and labor at various stages of construction.
  • Follow up on scheduled tasks, future tasks, and scope completion as they occur.
  • Effectively communicate with the project team progress, concerns or any risks that may impact the company.
  • Assist with job site clean-up; sweeping, vacuuming, product protection and trash pick-up when needed.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report incidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications. Maintain files of Safety Data Sheets and follow safe work practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
