About The Position

This position will design and implement appropriate technical services to ensure that client and project management needs are met. Position includes performing field and office tasks as well as providing technical and project management support for civil/environmental engineering design and traditional assessment and remediation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field civil engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years in the civil or environmental consulting industry with demonstrated progression in technical site investigation / remediation and civil engineering design and task management.
• Grading, cut/fill, and drainage design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare major components of routine deliverables (i.e., design components, specifications, tables, figures, appendices, etc.).
• Proficient in designing field programs and managing projects and associated field activities – scheduling, coordination of tasks, budgeting, subcontractor negotiating/management.
• Proficient in performing various field activities including but not limited to construction quality assurance (CQA), applying proper sampling techniques for all environmental media, overseeing and directing subcontractors, conducting compliance inspections and managing and directing junior field staff.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and managing the field implementation of common remedial technologies/approaches designed by Senior/Principal level professionals and supporting Senior/Principal level professionals with conceptual and detailed remedial design work.
• Demonstrated task/project management skills.
• Intermediate data evaluation and analytical skills.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with common technical protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Ability and willingness to support the technical growth of staff level professionals based on direct hands-on interactions.

Nice To Haves

• Solid waste civil design experience (e.g., landfill cells, caps) preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
• Civil 3D experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engineering design activities: Manage/support project team in the development of engineering documents including plans, calculations, specifications and reports.
• Use of AutoCAD/AutoCAD 3D to support design projects.
• Provide quality assurance during construction.
• Prepare technical reports by coordinating figures, data tables, site descriptions, and other necessary details to ensure report completeness.
• Field Coordination and Management: Set up work plans and protocols, supervise field activities, coordinate field personnel and related activities for the purpose of implementing technically sound project plans. May also include implementation of field activities.
• Technical Data Review and Report Preparation: Coordinate the collection and review of project data, including the reduction of field data to evaluate and determine future client needs and project requirements.
• Interpret data, develop, and finalize a report for Project Manager’s review that appropriately documents findings and project remediation recommendations.
• Project Management: Ensure that individual task schedules, budgets, and client invoicing are monitored and reviewed in compliance with Company standards and client requirements to complete project work.
• Staff Mentoring and Training: Participate in the development of junior staff and work with senior management to continue to grow as a consultant and leader of the firm.
