The Project Designer/Engineer designs and prepares plans, and construction contract documents for municipal street, drainage, site, and water quality projects, utilizing computer-aided design, drafting software applications, and recognized design criteria. Work includes scoping, planning, design and preparation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, bid proposals, and detailed estimates of probable construction costs for new or upgraded municipal street, trail, drainage, site, and water quality improvements or projects. Position responsibility includes detailed research of existing conditions, site analysis, design study, public process, in addition to the detailed design and preparation of construction documents, including stamping reports and final construction documents. Position responsibility also includes oversight and coordination of all aspects of design, such as surveys, soils, public information, permitting, traffic, lighting, impacts to utilities, hydraulic calculations, right-of-way and easement requirements and assistance with acquisition, cost estimating, bidding, liaison during construction, and resolving project impacts on adjoining properties. Perform other related duties as required.
