Project Engineer, Bridge Design
About The Position

PDG is seeking a Project Engineer to add to our growing and talented Transportation team. As a Project Engineer specializing in Bridge design, your role will include preparing complete project documents for structural components of transportation projects; reviewing complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance; and coaching junior staff in the preparation of design calculations, design details, specifications and cost estimates for structural components of transportation projects.
Requirements
- Possesses knowledge of applicable engineering principals and techniques
- Effectively expresses thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing in the English language
- Proficient in the use of applicable computer software
- Performs assigned tasks accurately and efficiently
- Is an active and supportive team member
- Understands basic safety requirements
- A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in the field
- Professional Engineer (PE)
Responsibilities
- Oversees and performs the preparation of design calculations and details
- Oversees and performs the preparation of contract plans and specifications
- Oversees and performs the preparation of construction cost estimates
- Oversees and performs the review of construction submittals
- Assists with the management of projects
- Leads field visits to collect data and evaluate existing conditions
- Leads field visits to resolve construction issues
- Coaches junior staff
