Jacobs Project Management Company is seeking a Project Engineer. Responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of the construction process from the design phase through closeout including interface with the building department & clients (OMH, DMNA, PARKS), track field/change orders, billings, manage contractors, sub., and all supporting staffs to ensure quality expectations and accomplish financial goals, milestones. Supporting PM or AS in payment review, administrative support, schedule & conduct project meetings at which contractors, OGS D&C staff, and CM jointly discuss progress, problems, coordination including drafting minutes of project meetings for multi projects as needed. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the U.S. which may require relocation at the end of each project.

  • Overseeing all aspects of the construction process from the design phase through closeout.
  • Interface with the building department & clients (OMH, DMNA, PARKS).
  • Track field/change orders, billings, manage contractors, sub., and all supporting staffs.
  • Ensure quality expectations and accomplish financial goals, milestones.
  • Support PM or AS in payment review and administrative support.
  • Schedule & conduct project meetings with contractors, OGS D&C staff, and CM.
  • Draft minutes of project meetings for multiple projects as needed.
  • Oversee the submittal process, review product data, samples, and other submission items.
  • Track & assist contract administrative services such as RFIs, IBs, FOs, COs, insurances, proposals & 2WLA/P6 schedules from contractors.
  • Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance.
  • Report on the project's status by utilizing the current building code & reference standards.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings such as architectural/structural plans, shop drawings, site safety plans.
  • Collaborate with PM to determine project schedule and construction phase.
  • Inspect work performed by contractors and ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Notify contractors in writing of any deficiencies encountered.
  • Prepare field inspection reports with photographs and daily/weekly construction progress pictures.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • 5 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Expertise/knowledge of AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Blue Beam, Procore, Primavera P6.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, MS Projects.
  • Experience on larger projects valued above $10 million.
  • Knowledge of RFI tracking, contract document review, forecast and cost scheduling, preparation of change order review and the review of payments.
  • OSHA 30 Hour certification.
  • Site Safety Training (SST).
