About The Position

Big River Steel LLC seeks a FT Project Engineer Electric & Automation (Ref# AK0425) in Osceola, AR. The position is responsible for computer systems, PLCs, control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, VFD drives/motors, measurement systems, and other control equipment. The engineer will coordinate company, contractor, and vendor activities to install or modify electrical equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications. The role involves working directly with all maintenance and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety-focused, productive roll mill team, supporting electrical teammates to maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability. Additionally, the engineer will manage the design, development, implementation, and procurement of hardware and/or software for level 1 improvement projects and provide support for other disciplines' projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other closely related field of study.
  • 5 years of experience in job offered or related automation experience in the metals industry.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 2 additional years of experience in the job offered or related automation experience in the metals industry will be accepted.
  • 5 years of experience in plant design, construction, and/or operation for metallurgical plants using Eplan.
  • Experience in PLC programming, data acquisition/analysis, and HMI programming.
  • Experience in server and network device configuration and maintenance.
  • Experience in managing safety, process, documentation, installation, and quality of proprietary software and products.
  • Experience in diagnosing and correcting issues with systems, components, and controllers.
