Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Project Engineer with extensive technical expertise to be responsible for technical execution in the continued manufacturing and support, including modernization, of the Fleet Ballistic Missile hardware produced at the Promontory, UT Facility. Role Description & Responsibilities: This project leadership role, will collaborate with subject experts to manage/facilitate project technical requirements. Position will manage dissemination of not only data but information, facilitate risk reduction and opportunity realization to support successful program goals within complaint procedures/standards, and coordinate daily within the on-site customers at a working group level. The successful candidate will be recognized as a subject matter expert and use ingenuity and creativity daily. This role will report to the Manager.

Requirements

  • Technical excellence, collaboration/ teamwork, and trustworthiness are required
  • Ability to see the larger picture for the system as a whole
  • Develops advanced technological ideas and guides development into final product within requirements
  • Experience in ePIC/EPLM, MRB, configuration management, technical writing (test plans and reports), and change board presentations (Change summary as well as technical justification)
  • Participation in problem analysis boards
  • Demonstrated ability to timely function in a matrixed construct and to self-manage a dynamic demanding workload required
  • Strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills are a must
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university
  • Position requires 5 years with BS; 3 years with Masters; 0 years' experience a with PhD
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DOD Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university
  • Position requires 8 years with BS; 6 years with Masters; 4 years' experience with a PhD
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DOD Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in VSET leadership, Quality Engineering, Design Engineering, Material and Process, or Process Ownership
  • Preferred candidate will have experience in a government contractor environment.
  • Detailed scope/schedule /budget planning skills are preferred
  • Configuration Management experience and certification is a plus
