About The Position

The Department of Child, Family, & Population Health Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Project Director position. Working in a multidisciplinary research team under the leadership of the Principal Investigator, the Project Director will develop, implement, and oversee data collection protocols for a new national study that builds on a previous multisite, longitudinal study. The project will recruit 468 female participants (ages 35-40) from locations across the country to complete a follow-up visit, including a physical exam, blood draw, and interviews. This new data collection will be merged with the existing database to test a series of analytical models focusing on women’s cardiometabolic health and biological aging over the life course. The Project Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the project. The Project Director’s work will include: implementing subject recruitment procedures; overseeing research protocol procedures; developing and overseeing data entry and data management activities; assisting in hiring and supervising local staff and in-field study staff; maintaining spreadsheets and other systems for tracking project expenditures and projecting spending; preparing relevant portions of the annual progress report; reviewing on-going data for accuracy and completeness; merging on-going newly collected data with existing data; integrating on-going sources of data from external labs; conducting data analyses related to descriptive statistics; collaborating with study statistician to assist in conducting data analyses related to the study hypotheses; preparing data summaries to track study progress; and preparing written reports to assist the Principal Investigator with the dissemination of research findings in the context of conference presentations and primary and secondary manuscripts.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a social sciences or other research-related field relevant to the study (e.g., nursing, pre-med, public health, health psychology, epidemiology).
  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience implementing human subject data collection protocols, and conducting research involving health assessments and biological specimens
  • Previous experience implementing human subjects data collection protocols.
  • Previous experience conducting research involving health assessments and biological specimens.
  • Previous experience building and maintaining databases.
  • Previous experience conducting data analyses.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills working with individuals from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds.

  • Excellent team-based skills are essential for working in a collaborative research environment.
