The Project Director position is responsible for managing and coordinating projects of varying sizes and complexities throughout all phases of design, permitting, and construction. This role involves providing leadership to site Project Managers, overseeing project financials, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Project Directors operate with significant independence and are the principal representatives for their projects, with Senior and Executive Project Directors taking on additional responsibilities such as mentoring Project Estimators.

  • Manage and coordinate projects through all phases of design, permitting, and construction.
  • Establish and manage project budgets to ensure completion at budgeted gross margins.
  • Direct Project Managers on payment terms and collection of outstanding amounts.
  • Collect all project outstanding account receivable payments, collaborating with Legal and Collections as necessary.
  • Mentor Project Estimators and conduct performance reviews.
  • Establish achievable completion schedules agreed upon with customers.
  • Acquire and manage subcontractors to complete necessary work.
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontractor agreements.
  • Review and inspect work performed to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Communicate with customers throughout the project and manage change orders.
  • Prepare and complete punch list items at project conclusion.
  • Resolve conflicts, warranty issues, and other complaints.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of restoration experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Estimator or Project Manager in a disaster restoration company required.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Director with excellent performance ratings required for Senior PDs.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Senior Project Director with excellent performance ratings required for Executive PDs.
  • IICRC certification (all levels) required for Project Directors; Xactimate Level 1 for Project Directors, Level 2 for Senior Project Directors, and Level 3 for Executive Project Directors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to train and supervise employees (for Senior and Executive PDs).
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and ability to react well under pressure.
