About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Project Director with a deep background in industrial electrical construction, specifically within the energy infrastructure sector. This individual must bring a proven track record of managing complex, multi-million-dollar electrical and instrumentation (E&I) projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a strong emphasis on field execution, project controls, and client interface.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial electrical construction.
  • At least 5 years in a senior project management or director-level role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with project controls, including cost tracking and forecasting.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Excel-based cost tracking tools.
  • Extensive experience with project management platforms such as Procore or Viewpoint.
  • Strong understanding of contractual risk, including change order negotiation and claims mitigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience overseeing projects in the Gulf Coast process and power facilities.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classification.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across the U.S.
  • Preference for candidates based in or willing to relocate to Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee greenfield and brownfield installations at compressor stations, including power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), grounding systems, and instrumentation for gas compression and dehydration systems.
  • Manage electrical systems integration at renewable gas plants, including biogas or RNG facilities, control panels, and SCADA systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA standards in midstream facilities, including pipeline pump stations, metering stations, and terminals.
  • Lead electrical scopes in petrochemical, refining, or power generation environments, focusing on high-voltage installations and complex QA/QC protocols.
  • Manage engineering coordination, procurement, and construction execution in turnkey EPC projects.
  • Utilize project controls for cost tracking, earned value management (EVM), and forecasting.
  • Coordinate project management platforms such as Procore, Viewpoint, or similar ERP systems.
  • Develop and monitor work packs for crews at the field level.
  • Deep dive into project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and contract compliance.
  • Manage remote teams and coordinate across multiple geographies and time zones.
