About The Position

The Project Director for the Monarch Transition and Employment Program at the American Printing House for the Blind is responsible for leading and coordinating a cross-departmental initiative aimed at enhancing employment access technology for transition-age individuals. This role involves the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Monarch Explore, Prepare, Engage project, which is federally grant-funded. The position emphasizes collaboration across various teams to ensure effective program delivery and aims to empower individuals who are blind or have low vision through innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Business, or a related field; Master's degree is valued.
  • 4+ years experience as a program manager or equivalent.
  • Solid project process knowledge, including planning and management experience.
  • Proven experience in leading large projects from beginning to end with a high rate of success.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with project-management software, e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time-management skills, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of reading and writing Braille, as well as accessibility practices.
  • Project-management training and experience; industry coursework and/or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize project activities from concept to launch, including cross-functional business activities and requirements.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and dashboards, tracking and reporting progress against these benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate program initiatives and foster communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance using data-driven insights to guide decision-making and enhance effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key project staff and partners to address challenges and incorporate best practices.
  • Prepare grant budgets and timelines and monitor adherence by key staff.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely reporting and alignment with program goals.
  • Encourage a culture of growth and innovation within project teams and across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for program processes and procedures.
  • Implement and uphold rigorous standards for process improvement and efficiency.
