POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Director at LJA Land Development, you will lead and manage project managers while driving strategic growth, design execution, and operational excellence. This role is responsible for overseeing project delivery, ensuring quality standards, and supporting business development efforts while partnering with leadership to align projects with company objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering and design software for the market.
  • 8+ years of managerial experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Land Development engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and drive performance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with cities, counties, and local agencies.
  • Experience supporting business development and client growth initiatives.
  • Experience managing budgets, claims, and operational planning at a department level.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing project managers and design teams on land development and public works projects, ensuring performance, quality, and delivery standards are met.
  • Driving business development efforts by building client relationships, meeting with municipalities and agencies, and supporting RFPs, SOQs, and presentations.
  • Overseeing project execution including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and reviewing major work orders and construction budgets.
  • Collaborating with leadership on strategic planning, system improvements, and reporting on departmental performance and project activities.
