THE POSITION: The Project Director II will work within the Division of Special Education in the organization and implementation of two grants awarded to the Los Angeles County Office of Education for the purpose of furthering inclusive practices throughout the educational continuum from preschool through college and transition into adult life for students with significant support needs. The Project Director II will provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, and planning services related to inclusion. The Project Director II will work closely with an advisory group to expand inclusive college programs throughout the state of California. The Project Director II will oversee the implementation of a technical assistance center intended to connect LEAs, Colleges, and families with inclusive college programs. The Project Director will help design and deliver professional learning opportunities so that educators understand that barriers to inclusion are not the students but the curriculum, instruction, materials, and mindsets. The Project Director II will be well-versed in coaching and inclusion implementation and have ten or more years of teaching/coaching/administrative experience. The Project Director II will provide both in-person and remote support to teams of educators within California. This position will require travel. This position is split-funded through two grants: 1) from the CDE California Center for College grant, and 2) from the CDE and CCEE grant to build capacity to support the inclusion of our most impacted learners across California and deepen their understanding of inclusion. The Project Director II will provide both in-person and remote support to teams of educators across the state. This position will require some travel throughout the state.
