The Project Development Coordinator for Public Programs Operations at the Department of Parks & Recreation is responsible for assisting the Public Programs Operations Manager in managing facilities and operations, implementing strategic priorities, and coordinating various projects. This role involves project tracking, reporting, and contributing to service contracts while ensuring operational efficiency and quality improvements across the division.

  • Assist the Public Programs Operations Manager in managing facilities and operations.
  • Coordinate with various departments on projects.
  • Assist with project tracking and reporting.
  • Contribute to division service contracts and execute quality improvements.
  • Support the identification of cost reductions and operational efficiency opportunities.
  • Monitor major systems to ensure they are in good repair.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance reviews and trainings with division leadership.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Research, analyze, and create operational reports and summaries.
  • Respond to requests for information and manage vendor relationships.
  • Travel to recreation centers for inspections and assessments.
  • Provide general office support and maintain files.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related activities; or a high school diploma with six years of experience; or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience in community work or related activities.
  • Familiarity with purchasing and facilities management processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, writing, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and experience with AMPS.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid New York State driver license.
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility for federal loan forgiveness programs.
