In the role of Project Designer, we'll count on you to take responsibility for design of architectural projects under the direction of the Design Principal and in close collaboration with the project team. You will independently develop alternative concepts and key components of complex projects, develop materials, and participate in client presentations, internal critiques, and reviews with various government agencies for project approvals. You will need to understand code and cost implications of design decisions to ensure that design proposals are viable and compliant with project goals. Additionally, you will independently coordinate design with the multidiscipline project team through multiple phases of a project, conduct internal design/work sessions in conjunction with the Design Principal and Project Manager, and coordinate the workload of team members through multiple phases to complete design deliverables on schedule. You will also review architectural documents for areas of design conflict with the Project Architect and all other disciplines, write and edit architectural specifications for key design materials and systems, incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents, provide construction contract administration assistance as needed to maintain design intent through construction, direct the activities of other junior designers, mentor other staff members as needed, contribute to the design culture of the studio, and perform other duties as needed.
