As a Project Designer at Steinberg Hart, you will play a crucial role in developing both standard and innovative solutions to design issues. Your responsibilities will include making recommendations to Senior Designers and Principals-in-Charge during the preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction documents. You will be expected to act independently to initiate the development of project designs, discovering feasible design solutions to general architectural problems. This position requires you to work simultaneously on multiple projects while managing small teams, ensuring that all projects meet the firm's design standards and intent. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials to resolve complex technical and design issues as they arise. You will prepare sketches, working drawings, and architectural detail specifications for concept design presentations and presentation packages, while also gauging progress against project schedules, scope, and budget. Your responsibilities will also include managing consultants, delegating work assignments, and providing direction and guidance to junior staff. You will be involved in incorporating consultant designs and systems into unified designs for client and agency review and approval. Additionally, you will assist in design development and details, programming, specifications, site planning, and construction administration on various building and construction types. Regular meetings with the Principal-in-Charge, Senior Designer, and Project Manager will be essential to provide insights on project status and details that contribute to the project's success. You will also represent the firm by actively participating in external professional organizations and social functions.
