About The Position

RK&K is currently hiring an experienced leader in Structural Engineering to join our team in Pennsylvania as we are growing with a variety of new projects and opportunities across the state and reach of the firm. As a senior member of our Structures team in our King of Prussia office, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation, primarily focused on the Philadelphia five county region but also participating in projects across Pennsylvania and within RK&K’s overall service area. You should have state experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands-on experience with bridge design and field operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Twenty (20) or more years of bridge design experience
  • Excellent communication skills including proposal development
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Pennsylvania
  • Experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), PennDOT District 6-0 and SEPTA

  • Masters degree in Structural Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead our structural design and engineering group in southeast Pennsylvania with development and delivery of structural assignments
  • Participate in Business Development and Marketing to secure future clients and workload
  • Provide Senior level structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the project
  • Serve as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on a variety of structure related projects
  • Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
  • Direct project staff and sub-consultants
  • Serve as liaison between client and firm
  • Execute QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work
  • Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field
  • Hire, train, and mentor entry level and junior level structural engineers
