About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Delivery Associate to join our New York City office. The candidate will be conversant in financial terms and metrics related to projects and programs and have experience identifying and communicating risks and mitigations with Business Management Leaders. The role will play a critical function to support Project Managers successfully manage profitable projects while providing quality deliverables to clients. This role requires excellent communication skills throughout all phases of the Project Delivery Life Cycle from proposals to project closeout and an understanding of team, client and stakeholder communication health. Project Delivery Associate should exude strong leadership, active and influential communication, problem-solving skills and a commitment to our Clients, Project Managers and Business Line leaders.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering-related Field (Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business or other related field)
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated post-education experience of relevant skills with a degree
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles, financial terms and metrics
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with attention to details
  • Ability to perform efficiently and independently to meet tight deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and work well under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to learn processes quickly and prioritize business requirements
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, and proactive thinker with a flexible can-do attitude
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat Software

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Licensure/certification (PMP, CAPM)
  • Experience with project management, team coordination, financials and leadership.
  • Prior experience in an engineering setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Local and Regional Operations with portfolio review and reporting, including proposal reviews and project reviews to mitigate risk and enhance cost center financial performance.
  • Supporting Project Managers with setting up, coordinating, and ensuring management of the project according to the approach outlined in the WSP’s Project Delivery Manual and in line with established quality control procedures.
  • Communicating with project teams to assist with the monitoring and control of budgets, expenditures, and schedules.
  • Providing timely updates on project controls, progress, and forecasting trends to the Project Manager, Technical Manager or Business Line leader
  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers and helping with preparation of subcontractor work orders and invoicing payments
  • Creating and updating project budgets and schedules and flagging issues to the Project Manager or Technical Manager
  • Interfacing with the accounting team to ensure compliance with client invoicing requirements, preparation of invoices, and assisting with facilitation of timely payment.
  • Identifying the need for and supporting preparation of change orders or reallocations
  • Perform other related duties as directed by Business Line leader, Operations Team or Project Manager
