About The Position

The Project Cost Controller is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and controlling the costs associated with engineering, construction, and other project activities. This role ensures that project budgets are adhered to, financial reporting is accurate and timely, and any potential cost overruns are identified and addressed proactively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in project cost control, preferably in construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, or engineering industries.
  • Strong knowledge of project cost control methodologies and tools.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and cost management software (e.g., Primavera, SAP, Oracle, Aconex).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCP - Certified Cost Professional, PMP) preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale projects or international project environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control project expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project cost forecasts and budgets.
  • Track and report on project commitments, expenditures, and variances.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets in collaboration with project managers.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts, identifying any cost trends or issues.
  • Prepare cost control reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide financial analysis, explanations for variances, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of project changes and risks.
  • Support the change management process, ensuring all changes are documented and approved.
  • Validate supplier invoices against purchase orders and progress reports.
  • Support the procurement team with financial reviews of supplier bids and contracts.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, finance teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide cost control support throughout the full project lifecycle.
