About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a Project Coordinator or Project Manager within the Facilities Services Department. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating multiple construction, repair, and renovation projects that are of minimal design and construction complexity, volume, budget, and timelines. In contrast, the Project Manager will oversee projects of moderate complexity, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. As a Project Coordinator, your responsibilities will include coordinating projects involving various stakeholders such as departments, architectural/engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and state agencies. You will conduct project meetings, meet with customers for project planning, develop budgets, schedules, cost estimates, specifications, and other essential information related to project development. Additionally, you will assist with consultant contract negotiations, complete procurements for design, construction, and consultant services, and coordinate work with outsourced architectural/engineering consultants. Daily site visits will be required to review progress and ensure compliance with design and construction documents, as well as conducting final inspections. You will also address any nonconformance with plans and quality of work situations with contractors and implement appropriate remedies. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. As a Project Manager, you will manage multiple projects, ensuring compliance with campus standards while developing, finalizing, and managing planning, budgeting, scheduling, cost estimates, specifications, and other information regarding architectural/engineering design, bidding, and construction management. You will also be responsible for managing consultant contract negotiations, awarding contracts, and conducting daily site visits to ensure compliance with design and construction documents. Your role will include reviewing and approving change orders, requests for information, general construction correspondence, and invoices, as well as interpreting and enforcing building codes and ordinances. Other duties may also be assigned as necessary.
