About The Position

A Project Coordinator Lead at HBK Engineering is a position that serves as the primary liaison for project reporting between clients, project team leadership, and project team members. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, design, or construction field
  • Must have CAPM or PMP certification
  • Proven and demonstrated ability to support the management of engineering, design, or construction projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Problem solving, attention to detail, and timely decision-making skills
  • Proactive approach with ability to work independently on daily tasks and prioritize efforts based on deadlines
  • Ability to use software to track project performance in an organized and clear manner for internal and external use
  • Leadership and team management experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison for project reporting between client, project team leadership, and project team members
  • Work as a team member on diverse technical teams involved in engineering design and construction of utility infrastructure
  • Coordinate pre-construction and post-construction walk downs with internal design staff and HBK contractors-of-choice
  • Lead the development and maintenance of tracking metrics related to project design progress including easement submittals, design and review status, permit submittals, pre-construction easement staking, and permit acquisitions
  • Prepare and develop comprehensive reports as requested by management and clients
  • Lead coordination efforts in carrying out project duties and tasks, coordinate project meetings, assist in gathering requirements, and maintain project information
  • Control expenditures to meet budget allocations and financial targets
  • Provide support for the creation of proposals in coordinated effort with project team leadership, contractors, and other key team members
  • Provide support to project team leadership through assistance with project accruals and forecasts
  • Identify project/program budget, forecast, and authorization concerns early and develop resolutions to meet required project metrics
  • Monitor program financial risks and opportunities and provide detailed analysis of variances to budget, quarterly plan, and month-over-month variance analysis
  • Collaborate with project teams to optimize field and design resources to maintain compliance with project and contract milestones
  • Review external schedules from owners, clients, sub-consultants, and contractors
  • Develop, manage, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external teammates
  • Coordinate with other departments within the organization for seamless project execution
  • Take ownership of high priority, high pressure responsibilities with leadership accountability
  • Provide leadership to a team of Project Coordinators and serve as point of contact for questions, guidance, assistance, and coordination
  • Maintain and distribute up-to-date knowledge of design project lifecycle and client-specific requirements
  • Share innovation and creative ideas to assist in streamlining and improving existing processes and procedures.
