About The Position

Studio in a School (Studio) seeks enthusiastic, driven, organized, and collaborative Project Coordinators to support the Bloomberg Arts Internship: College Program. The ideal candidate for this position possesses an interest in both visual and performing arts education, career preparation, and a strong background in program facilitation, project coordination, data management, and event coordination. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment is crucial, as is the willingness to travel weekly to visit internship sites and facilitate pre-planned events within your city. This is a non-exempt, non-union position, reporting to the Program Manager, Arts Intern College and the Associate Program Manager, Bloomberg Arts Internship: College Program. This position also supports in supervising and mentoring a cohort of interns. About Studio in a School  Studio in a School fosters the creative and intellectual development of young people through quality visual arts programs, directed by professional artists, arts and cultural internships, and apprentice-based learning in the arts. The organization also collaborates with and develops the ability of those who provide or support arts programming and creative development for young people both in and outside of schools.  About the Bloomberg Arts Internship: College Program The Bloomberg Arts Internship: College Program provides exciting and challenging paid summer internships to college students within arts and cultural organizations. The program launched in the summer of 2024 in four cities: New York, Boston, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. Based on this early success, the program expanded to include Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2025. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working with arts organizations or young professionals in an educational or mentorship capacity.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate program activities and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient use of MS365 applications (particularly Excel) and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of arts, cultural, and performing arts organizations and a passion for nurturing the next generation of arts professionals.
  • Ability to provide coaching on career development skills to prepare young professionals for the workforce after graduation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to evolving priorities and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Orientation, Kick-off Meeting and Follow-up:
  • Attendance at HR onboarding.
  • Attendance at project coordinator orientation sessions to understand job responsibilities.
  • Attendance and programmatic support at initial Kick-Off meetings with interns and supervisors.
  • Site Visits:
  • Visit each internship site 1 – 2 times during the summer to understand intern experiences and provide hands-on support.
  • Build relationships with site supervisors to ensure alignment of goals between partners, interns and the internship program.
  • Document and observe program dynamics to share with the team.
  • Make timely improvements for programmatic success.
  • Intern Support:
  • Weekly 1:1 check-in with interns to provide coaching, including a combination of virtual, phone and in-person communication.
  • Review interns’ weekly timesheets and logs, providing constructive feedback to ensure clarity, accuracy, and reflection on their learning journey.
  • Guide cohort discussions for various Professional Development Day activities to promote collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking in alignment with program objectives.
  • Identify individual and group challenges within the cohort and proactively bring them to the manager’s attention.
  • Professional Development Day Activities Coordination:
  • Facilitate weekly Professional Development Days throughout the summer for the intern cohort, including coordinating logistics for guest speakers, agendas for visits to arts organizations, attendance tracking, and managing logistics such as set-up and breakdown.
  • Technical Assistance:
  • Provide technical assistance to interns on the submission of final projects and review their final presentations.
  • Ensure submission of hours and weekly logs by interns for proper tracking.
  • Data, Reporting and Survey Oversight:
  • Weekly 1:1 with Associate Manager to review intern cohort progress, event coordination, data management, and any additional questions or concerns as needed.
  • Produce appropriate data and materials to support the development of surveys and final reports.
  • Keep supervisor informed of progress and any issues or concerns.
