About The Position

The Project Coordination Manager at Barge leads the coordination function across all engineering and architecture consulting projects, ensuring seamless project delivery and operational excellence. This role combines leadership, project management expertise, and process improvement to oversee a team of coordinators and supervisors while driving firmwide strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of progressive project coordination experience in engineering, architecture, or consulting environments
  • Minimum 3-5 years of management experience leading teams of 8+ professionals
  • Advanced proficiency in project management software (BST)
  • Knowledge of professional services billing, contract administration, and client management
  • Strong understanding of engineering and architecture project lifecycles
  • Proven track record of developing and mentoring professional staff
  • Advanced analytical and management capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the project coordination department, including Project Coordinators I-III and supervisory staff
  • Establish performance objectives, conduct evaluations, and provide career development guidance for all direct and indirect reports
  • Lead talent management activities including recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and professional growth
  • Make recommendations regarding promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions
  • Develop and implement department-wide standards, procedures, and best practices for project coordination
  • Establish key performance indicators and metrics to measure coordination effectiveness and efficiency
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize project delivery and client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align coordination services with firm strategic objectives
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of project coordination training programs and resources
  • Provide oversight and guidance for large, complex, or high-risk projects requiring specialized coordination support
  • Ensure consistent application of project management methodologies across all projects
  • Monitor project coordination quality and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Serve as escalation point for complex project issues and client concerns
  • Review and approve major project deliverables, scope changes, and budget modifications
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and project stakeholders
  • Participate in proposal development and client presentations for significant opportunities
  • Resolve high-level coordination issues and client concerns
  • Represent the coordination function in firm-wide strategic planning and business development activities
  • Oversee department budget planning and resource allocation
  • Champion the adoption of new coordination technologies and project management tools
  • Oversee system implementations and upgrades affecting the coordination function
