About The Position

The Project Controls Specialist IV has significant responsibility to develop project budgets and forecasts, analyze project risks and provides project financial modeling and support to Project Managers. This role collaborates closely with customers and corporate functionals on the development and delivery of project deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance strongly preferred. Degree may be substituted for an additional two years of relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) years of project support/project controls or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
  • Must have identification compliant with the Real ID Act at time of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Energy access badge.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develops project baseline budgets, analyzes project risks, and provides analytical support to Project Managers.
  • Develops detailed implementation schedules using Sciforma Project and Portfolio Management Software.
  • Monitors project progress to compare actual versus baseline resource usage and analyze project cost variances.
  • Integrates cost estimates with schedules to produce logic-tied, resource-loaded projections.
  • Monitors real-time cost and schedule performance to assess project health.
  • Recommends corrective actions to mitigate overruns.
  • Develops accurate Estimate to Completion (ETC) forecasts.
  • Identifies and provides recommendations for change management process on projects.
  • Provides reports on project status, Project Cost information and staff planning.
  • Provides process, technical and analytic guidance to project teams.
  • Identifies and applies lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Prepares financial and project documentation for project financial review and approval.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.
