About The Position

As the Project Controls Specialist III, you will work on-site in one of our offices located in Anchorage, AK, Salt Lake City, UT, Grand Junction, CO, Omaha, NE, and Portland, ME. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of project cost tracking and status reporting. Also, you will provide hands-on technical support/knowledge for all job cost management and administrative tasks related to individual projects, primarily related to environmental and construction Federal contracts.

Requirements

  • Must have strong knowledge of general accounting theories, principles, and practices with a solid knowledge of Government accounting.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of legal documentation including contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to deal effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills and extreme attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, able to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure and changing priorities.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in an Alaska Native Corporation multi-business environment.
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience in Cost+ project controls required, with five to fifteen years of Project Controls experience
  • Experience in the following areas is required:
  • Deltek Cost Point software
  • DCAA and DCMA government contracting
  • MS Excel and MS Word
  • Electronic invoicing systems
  • Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Brice Environmental’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; experience in lieu of education will be taken into consideration
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and FAR/DFARs is preferred
  • Experience with scheduling software like MS Project, Primavera and Smart sheets is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Tracking and reporting project costs
  • Preparing cost reports and developing Estimate to Complete (ETC) tools to support the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process
  • Analyzing cost and schedule performance, preparing the reporting package necessary for forecasting and computing indirect rates and revenue
  • Performing monthly expense trend and budget vs. actual analyses
  • Understanding project contract terms as it pertains to the billing function but also to become familiar with the scope of work, cost allowability, milestones, funding, deliverables, and schedule
  • Supporting purchase order/subcontract setup to accrue and track subcontractor costs and other job/project expenses
  • Participate in the preparation of customer invoicing complete with appropriate back-up and approvals
  • Project close-out tasks including a thorough review of historical cost data to ensure proper cost coding, compliance with contract and inclusion of all job costs
  • Primary point of contact for team training on Cost+ project management
