  • Guide projects from their inception to their completion.
  • Lead the preparation of essential project funding documents.
  • Contribute to creating precise estimates and benchmarks for projects.
  • Conduct thorough risk analysis reviews for cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project cash flows.
  • Collaborate with procurement to develop detailed contract documents and incentive plans.
  • Review and analyze bids, change orders, invoices, and progress reports from engineers and contractors.
  • Monitor and control costs for both Amgen and external engineers/contractors.
  • Evaluate progress and forecast remaining work accurately.
  • Work with the Buying Center and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice payment issues.
  • Oversee the closeout process for contracts and purchase orders.
  • Provide important Front-End Planning content, including scope definition, estimate development, and schedule analysis.
  • Assist the Project Controls Director in creating project strategies and determining financing and resource needs.
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR
  • Associate's degree and 10 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR
  • Master's degree and 4 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience OR
  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering and capital projects delivery experience.
  • At least 5 years of firsthand experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or engineering industry, focusing on project controls such as funding, estimating, cost management, scheduling, and contract strategy.
  • A minimum of 2 years leading teams, projects, or programs, demonstrating a knack for directing resources efficiently.
  • Ability to forge strong relationships and drive decision-making across various sites, functions, and the broader network.
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills, ensuring complex challenges are met with innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational and task management prowess, seamlessly juggling multiple priorities.
  • Superb communication skills, adept at translating and conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
  • A talent for thriving in matrixed or team environments, collaborating smoothly with site, functional, and executive leadership.
