About The Position

The Project Controls Manager at Copart is responsible for overseeing property acquisitions from concept through construction turnover. This role involves managing project schedules, budgets, and costs while coordinating with subcontracted engineering teams and maintaining client relationships. The position requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of civil site design development and project control processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited college or university in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, with a strong focus on land development projects.
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and cost control software, including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Monday.com, and Primavera P6.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software.
  • Prepare work scopes and budgets for project execution and participate in project execution planning.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and delays.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Track and monitor scope changes.
  • Lead project teams in project study, design, and construction.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and forecast future costs.
  • Perform cost analysis and variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for management.
  • Manage change orders and variations to the project scope.
  • Assess the impact of changes on project schedules and budgets.
  • Implement effective change control procedures.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare regular project status reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the entitlement and permitting process, working closely with legal and engineering teams.
