The Senior Scheduler for the LA Metro Gateway Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) Program at KKCS is a critical role focused on project controls and risk management. This hybrid position involves developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, analyzing potential delays, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of one of the largest electric bus initiatives in the nation. The role aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality in Los Angeles County.

  • Create, maintain, and update comprehensive master schedules for the LA Metro Zero Emissions Buses program using Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools.
  • Analyze project schedules using the Critical Path Method to identify potential delays and schedule risks, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Track project progress against the established schedule, perform time impact analysis, and implement Earned Value Management principles to ensure cost and time control.
  • Lead the risk identification, assessment, and mitigation processes, ensuring risks are documented and addressed through risk registers and contingency planning.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and LA Metro teams to ensure accurate and timely schedule updates.
  • Provide regular progress reports, lookahead schedules, and performance analysis to project teams and Metro management.
  • Support Metro's goal of transitioning to a 100% electric bus fleet by ensuring schedules align with emissions reduction targets.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in project scheduling, project controls, and risk management within the transportation, transit, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Expertise in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • PMP, PMI-SP, or AACE certifications are highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with bus emissions or electric bus programs is strongly preferred.
  • A Master's degree or additional certifications in scheduling, project controls, or risk management is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Zero Emission Buses (ZEB) programs and transportation-related environmental initiatives.
