This position would be based in our Minneapolis, MN or St. Paul, MN office. This group is responsible for providing estimating and scheduling services for municipal streets and utilities, state and county highways, freeways, bridges, parks, trails, transit and related facilities. Requirements

  • Progressing toward a BS in civil engineering/ construction management / business administration/ related 4-year degree, or a two-year civil engineering technician / related degree or prior experience working on a survey or construction crew.
  • Demonstrates cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team and as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Frequent sitting/standing.
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms and frequent repetitive movements with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequent reading and computer work.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to read and understand civil plan sets at various levels of project design.
  • Assist in the development of quantity take-off using OST (On-Screen Take-Off).
  • Learn what goes into generating a production style estimate in terms of labor, equipment and material resources and then applying production rates and quantities to develop a fully built-up unit cost.
  • Assist in developing critical path method (CPM) schedule in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Assist with construction time determination schedules in understanding schedule activities, logic and durations.
  • Assist in generating Primavera P6 schedule reports for the use in contractor schedule reviews.
  • Potential to assist with the SRF construction administration and survey team by getting into the field on a project.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
