The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway. A desert track connects Al Mouwayh to the Project site. Bechtel has been awarded the Ar Rjum gold project feasibility study update and related works by Ma'aden, Saudi Arabia's state-owned mining company. The scope will include updating the existing design capacity from 6 Mtpa to 8 Mtpa and preparing for execution, which is anticipated to kick off execution in 2025. This role will be based in the Brisbane home office before mobilising to Helsinki, Finland on a 12 month short-term assignment.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in using PC operating systems and multi discipline specific software applications (Primavera P6, EcoSys, Microsoft applications).
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and solving problems.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
  • Knowledge of current industry and technical developments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cost budgets and accurate cost & cashflow forecasts, utilising the change management system.
  • Perform ongoing cost & cash flow analysis.
  • Monitor progress of contractors, verify monthly incurred costs, prepare monthly accruals and provide variance analysis.
  • Ensure approved trends and changes are incorporated into the overall project estimate at completion (EAC) and budget for cost and quantities.
  • Review contractors provided schedules for accuracy, identifying critical paths and analysing durations.
  • Identify schedule trends, and review schedule / cost related claims by the contractor.
  • Manage planning activities for the assigned area of the project level 3 schedule.
  • Prepare routine performance reports and special studies related to assigned scope for presentation to project, corporate, and/or customer management team(s).
