About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a highly motivated Project Controls & Digitalization Specialist for a position in the Lake Charles, LA area. This role will drive efficiency and enhance reporting capabilities within our project management framework. The specialist will be pivotal in developing and implementing digital processes, establishing robust data architecture, and leveraging the power of Power BI to provide insightful project performance reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of project controls principles, a passion for digitization, and advanced skills in data analysis and Power BI development.

Requirements

• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in project controls, with a strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing digital processes and workflows.
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles and best practices.
• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Power BI.
• Ability to build & manipulate DAX formula writing and optimization.
• Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries.
• Experience in creating visually appealing and interactive dashboards.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and relationship generation.
• Overall deep knowledge of the Power BI ecosystem.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with specific project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, SAP Project System) preferred.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts preferred.
• Experience with other data visualization tools preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, data analytics certifications) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document standardized processes and procedures for the digitization of project controls workflows.
• Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation across project lifecycle stages.
• Evaluate and recommend digital tools and technologies to improve data capture, management, and accessibility.
• Lead the implementation and adoption of new digital processes and systems.
• Implement a robust data architecture to support effective project controls reporting in Power BI.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive and insightful project performance dashboards and reports in Power BI.
• Develop and execute SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources.
• Establish and manage data model relationships within Power BI to ensure accurate and efficient reporting.
• Analyze project data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to project teams.
• Train and support end-users on Power BI dashboards and reporting functionality.
