About The Position

Senior Project Cost Controls Analyst - ARB, Inc. At ARB, Inc. is seeking a senior Project Cost Controls Analyst to analyze and report project cost data, prepare cost estimates and develop cost control procedures, this job will provide an exciting and fulfilling opportunity for you. The ideal candidate will have a good background in cost engineering, project management, and be proficient in various cost estimating software. They will be directly responsible for analyzing and reporting project cost data, preparing cost estimates, and developing cost control procedures. This position also requires a lot of collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project costs are properly managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in cost engineering and project controls.
  • Strong knowledge of project cost control principles, procedures, and systems.
  • Experience in cost estimating, forecasting, and trend analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in supporting large-scale, long term EPC projects preferred.
  • Experience in lump sum contracts and time and materials contracts preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of cost estimating software, such as Primavera, Excel, and Ecosys.

Responsibilities

  • Follow project cost control procedures and operate in company established systems.
  • Monitor, analyze and report project costs compare those to budgeted costs and perform variance analysis.
  • Prepare project cost forecasts, including direct costs, indirect costs, equipment costs, and third party costs.
  • Develop and/or oversee earned value management tools.
  • Review and analyze contractor and vendor cost reports and forecasts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and/oversee company invoices ensuring compliance with the contract.
  • Review and approve third party invoices.
  • Understand contract and determine original scope from change scope and ensure costs are captured appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers and engineers to ensure that project cost information is properly integrated into project plans and schedules.
  • Support the development of cost performance reports and presentation materials for senior management.
  • Coordinate with other departments AR, AP, and payroll on day to day operations.
  • Ensure that all cost-related data is properly entered and maintained in the project cost control system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
