About The Position

PAR Electrical Contractos LLC. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Controller to support our operations team in delivering complex utility construction projects safely, on time, and within budget. This role is responsible for providing financial oversight, cost control, forecasting, and performance reporting across multiple projects. The Project Controller partners closely with Project Managers, Operations leadership, and Accounting to ensure strong financial performance, accurate forecasting, and proactive risk identification throughout the project lifecycle. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting operational execution in a fast-paced, field-driven environment. Salary Range will be $29.00 - 32.70 per hour based on experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–7+ years of experience in project controls, construction accounting, or financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of job costing, forecasting, and construction financial management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in utility construction, transmission, distribution, or substation projects
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Viewpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Knowledge of percent-complete revenue recognition methods
  • Experience working in a field-supported or multi-project environment
  • Ability to translate financial data into actionable operational insights
  • Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with field and corporate teams
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking reports
  • Monitor job costs, production quantities, labor hours, and material usage
  • Analyze variances between actuals, budget, and forecast; identify risks and opportunities
  • Support revenue recognition and percent-complete reporting
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial performance reports
  • Provide cash flow projections and financial outlooks
  • Assist in project reviews and executive-level reporting
  • Ensure accurate cost coding and alignment with accounting standards
  • Partner with Project Managers to review financial performance and improve profitability
  • Assist with contract review, change order tracking, and billing documentation
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with company and client requirements
  • Identify process improvements to strengthen cost controls and reporting accuracy
