Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in project controls, project accounting, or financial management, preferably within engineering, construction, or energy industries
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting
Experience with project management tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities

Nice To Haves

Understanding of contract structures is preferred
Experience in renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects is a plus

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking tools across multiple projects
Monitor project performance, including cost, revenue, and profitability, and provide regular updates to project teams and leadership
Partner with Project Managers to ensure alignment between financial performance, project scope, and schedules
Identify cost variances, financial risks, and opportunities for improved efficiency, and provide recommendations for corrective actions
Prepare, review, and track client invoices to ensure accuracy and timely submission in accordance with contract terms
Support revenue recognition and ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
Maintain accurate project financial documentation, including contracts, change orders, and purchase orders
Assist with project setup, including budget development, cost codes, and financial tracking structures
Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure proper reporting, reconciliation, and month-end close processes
Support audits by preparing and organizing required financial documentation
Assist in resource planning and forecasting to support project delivery and staffing needs
Communicate project financial status clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders
Contribute to the development and improvement of project controls processes and best practices
