Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, project accounting, or financial management, preferably within engineering, construction, or energy industries
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of contract structures is preferred
  • Experience in renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking tools across multiple projects
  • Monitor project performance, including cost, revenue, and profitability, and provide regular updates to project teams and leadership
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure alignment between financial performance, project scope, and schedules
  • Identify cost variances, financial risks, and opportunities for improved efficiency, and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Prepare, review, and track client invoices to ensure accuracy and timely submission in accordance with contract terms
  • Support revenue recognition and ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate project financial documentation, including contracts, change orders, and purchase orders
  • Assist with project setup, including budget development, cost codes, and financial tracking structures
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure proper reporting, reconciliation, and month-end close processes
  • Support audits by preparing and organizing required financial documentation
  • Assist in resource planning and forecasting to support project delivery and staffing needs
  • Communicate project financial status clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project controls processes and best practices
