We are seeking to fill an Intern - Project & Component Engineering role for Summer 2025 in its Los Angeles, CA location. Enjoy work/life balance at our Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area) site. At this facility, we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASA's SLS, Lockheed Martin's THAAD, Sierra Nevada's Dream Chaser, and the Mars Perseverance Rover. After orientation and training, interns will perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects. Interns will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with company projects. Interns must be able to operate effectively in a team environment. Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September. Projects may focus on aspects of project and component engineering including assisting in the design and development of rocket propulsion hardware and providing technical support to engineers within such areas as combustion devices, turbopumps, small thrusters, valves & actuators, and systems hardware.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar major.
  • Returning to school upon completion of the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects.
  • Support senior engineering staff.
  • Gain experience and familiarization with company projects.
  • Assist in the design and development of rocket propulsion hardware.
  • Provide technical support to engineers in areas such as combustion devices, turbopumps, small thrusters, valves & actuators, and systems hardware.
