About The Position

The County Materials Family of Companies manufactures and delivers concrete construction products to meet the demand for growing communities. We rely on our talented and dedicated team members to provide reliable products with personalized service. We are seeking a Project Checker for County Prestress & Precast, LLC at Westmont, IL. The Project Checker will provide drawing and detail checking. They also provide assistance to Project Managers and Project Coordinators as required or requested.

Requirements

Education - AutoCAD or Revit certification, or Autodesk certified.
Bachelor's or Associates degree.
Knowledge and Skills - Detailed experience in precast concrete drafting and detailing. Extensive ability to ready and comprehend contract drawings.
Previous Experience - Minimum of 5 years of related experience in prestress.

Nice To Haves

Additional Skills - Knowledge of LecWall would be a plus.

Responsibilities

Review estimate, contract, and contract documents (drawings, specifications, addenda, etc.) to become familiar with project.
Check erection drawings and piece tickets against contract documents, approval drawings and "mark-ups."
Suggest or modify detail to reduce costs to County Prestress, owner, and/or erector
Compare actual project being drawn with estimate at bid sheet and alert Project Manager/Engineer and Estimator of quantity or material deviations.
Ensure piece drawings are available a minimum of two days prior to their production dates.
Ensure embed plates and loose material are checked well before they required so material can be fabricated, assembled, and delivered.
Stay in continual contact with Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Project Scheduler in order to meet erection and production schedules.
Responsible for checking dimensions and scope of work of drawings & details prepare by others.
Work closely with Project Engineers and Project Coordinators during development of erection drawings and piece tickets.
Work with all other County Prestress departments to promote a strong working relationship.
Develop and maintain relationships with external engineers, architects, contractors as required.
